Georgia lineman selects the Tide

2012 DT Dakota Ball of Pepperell High School in Lindale, Ga. grew up a Georgia Bulldog fan, but after a trip to Tuscaloosa a little over a year ago, the Tide has been the team to beat since.

Today he decided to end the process and called Nick Saban to deliver the news that he's committing to the University of Alabama.

“Alabama just felt like the place for me," said Ball. "Everything about Alabama was perfect and I really just felt like I was meant to be there."

At 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, Ball will be able to play inside or outside on the defensive line in Kirby Smart’s 3-4 defense.

Ball becomes the third commit of the 2012 class for the Tide. He chose Alabama over offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, Maryland and Georgia Tech.
