One of the most talked about recruits on the West is Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco defensive back Naijiel Hale.
Hale will announce at 'The Opening' in early July.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound recruit has well-known ties among the music industry and he also has a mean twitter game endearing him to numerous fanbases.
Hale has compiled a quality list of offers and has six programs on his short list.
"Cal and Arizona are at the top for me right now," Hale said. "After that it's Nebraska, Boise State, ASU and Washington State in that order. I like USC and Oregon and those schools, but they haven't offered yet. I'm looking harder at the schools that have offered right now. They want me so I want to give them the attention in return."
Things may be escalating quickly in terms of his recruitment. Hale has been invited to the prestigious Nike event, 'The Opening.' The event takes place in early July but dates haven't been nailed down yet. Hale plans to make his commitment the week of the event.
"I will make my commitment at The Opening when I'm up there," he said. "I'm not sure which day but I'll get that nailed down when they give us the dates. I'm happy with the six offers I have right now so I'll probably be deciding from that group when I'm there. I'm still going to take my official visits later this Fall after my commitment."
One Pac-12 program has increased their attention of late in the elite four-star.
"UCLA has really picked things up lately. I'm talking to coach (Steve) Broussard and coach Meat (Demetrice Martin. Definitely excited to hear from them and see what develops."
