Ball State head coach Pete Lembo has strong ties to the state of North Carolina.
So does his 2013 recruiting class.
On Saturday evening, the Cardinals landed their seventh commit from the Tar Heel State in Mebane (N.C.) Eastern Alamance receiver Aaron Clay.
Clay joins fellow in-state players in cornerback David Moore, defensive end Blake Dueitt, linebacker Sean Wiggins, safety Chris Blair, defensive end Daniel Garces and defensive tackle Damerrian Petty as part of North Carolina products headed to the Hoosier State to play their college football.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Clay becomes commitment No. 21 overall for Ball State, and the first wide receiver. As a senior, he caught 47 passes for 586 yards and 12 touchdowns. He took his official visit to the Muncie, Ind. campus over the weekend.
Before arriving at Ball State, Lembo was the head coach at Elon from 2006-2010.
