Pittsburgh added another piece to what is shaping up to be an excellent offensive line class when three-star Alex Officer (Rochester, N.Y./East Ridge) committed to the Panthers, Greg Croft of Panther247 reports.
"(Pittsburgh assistant) Robinson came by to see me on Thursday evening, I told him I had good news for him," Officer said. "When (Robinson) asked me what the good news was, I told him I was going to call (Pitt head coach Paul Chryst and commit."
Officer said he called Chryst on Friday and made the pledge.
Officer is commit No. 20 for the Panthers in the 2013 class and joins five-star Dorian Johnson and Aaron Reese in a solid offensive line class for Chryst during his first full cycle as the head coach at Pitt.
Officer is the nation's No. 37 offensive guard prospect and the No. 8 overall prospect in the state of New York according to 247Sports.
