Hooper will play tight end at Stanford.
Concord (Calif.) jumbo athlete Austin Hooper has decided to end the recruiting process and committed to the Cardinal.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound prep committed to Stanford over offers from Oregon, Notre Dame, Cal and others.
"It's just the best school in the Pac-12 when you combine the football and academics," Hooper said. "It really was an easy decision for me, this is where I wanted to play college football."
Hooper has been recruited as a tight end and defensive end. He will play on offense for Stanford.
"We just talked about it and that's where they think I will fit best," he said. "Which is fine with me, I'm not really concerned about where I play."
The three-star has other visits planned but said he will cancel those plans and is a solid commit to Stanford.
"No sir, I won't be taking any other trips. I'm all set with Stanford."
