It's been a busy recruiting for Dimarya Mixon. That stretch of recruiting dates back to September of 2012.
Mixon graduated from West Mesquite in Texas.
After signing with Nebraska, Mixon missed the academic requirement to get in. But not by much. Last year Mixon was a victim of impulse commitments. After nearly every official visit, he fell in love with that place over the previous.
The 6-foot-3, 265-pound prep didn't opt to go the JUCO route and instead fixed the small academic problem. With that behind him, he's now able to enroll in the FBS school of his choice.
This past weekend the three-star took an official visit to Boise State. The Broncos made an impression, but Mixon didn't make an impulse commitment.
"Boise was a great time," Mixon said. "I really enjoyed the players and the coaches and how the players talked about the coaches. I liked the town and all of the people I met. But what really stood out to me was how the players talked about the coaches. "
Another selling point for Mixon was the open depth chart.
"Boise State is sticking out right now to me," he said. "I really liked the visit. Tennessee and Washington State is up there too. They are recruiting me real hard right now."
Mixon's visit list is very busy during the next month. At the end of the month he will visit Washington State. In November he visits Tennessee, Auburn and ASU in that order.
At one point the three-star was committed to Missouri. He ultimately signed with Nebraska but the Tigers are open to another chance.
"Mizzou called last night to talk to me. They are trying to get me on campus this weekend. We'll see what happens with them."
