Boulware tabs Clemson

T.L. Hanna (S.C.) linebacker Ben Boulware decided to follow in his brother’s footsteps after all, committing to Clemson on Wednesday after an unofficial visit to spring practice.

Boulware, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound inside linebacker who lives roughly 30 minutes from campus, had narrowed the field to the Tigers and Georgia after his unofficial visit to the Bulldogs’ practice last Saturday.

While many around him considered Georgia the frontrunner, Boulware chose Clemson, where one of his brothers, Garrett, is a freshman outfielder for the baseball team.

Boulware carries an 82 rating for 247Sports as a three-star prospect and is ranked as the state’s No. 15 prospect.

He becomes Clemson’s fifth commitment for the ’13 class.

Boulware has been a tackling machine for the Yellow Jackets throughout his career, stockpiling 180 tackles, four sacks and four forced fumbles as a junior to surpass the 151 tackles credited as a sophomore.
