Ashburn (Va.) Stone Bridge quarterback Ryan Burns committed to Stanford on Saturday. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder made the call while visiting Palo Alto.
Word started to spread of the four-star signal caller's commitment on Saturday evening.
247Sports reached out to Burns' father, Bryan for confirmation of his son's pledge.
"Yes," said the elder Burns in response to the question about his son's commitment to the Cardinal. "Stanford is incredible."
Burns chose the Cardinal over offers from Boston College, Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
The Stone Bridge standout joins fellow Virginian, Woodberry Forest (Va.) Woodberry Forest School four-star linebacker Doug Randolph, as the second commitment in the Cardinal's 2013 class.
247Sports ranks Burns as the No. 7 pro-style quarterback in the country and the No. 101 prospect overall in the 2013 class. He's ranked the No. 4 prospect in the state of Virginia.
