Carr Catches First Offer

South Bend (Ind.) Clay offensive tackle Shakir Carr landed his first offer from Ball State on Monday.

Besides the Cardinals, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound Carr says he's been talking with the coaching staffs at Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, Central Michigan and Western Michigan.

Carr recently got a chance to visit Ball State and see what the Muncie program could offer.

"They really drew me in with a great presentation on my unofficial visit," Carr said. "I also think their campus is the perfect size, not too spread out. I like my position coach a lot because he coached me at a camp at another school before, and I remember leaving the camp with way more knowledge than before."

Carr says he plans to visit Indiana in the near future, but no date is set.
