Newark (Ohio) Catholic quarterback Chayce Crouch didn't take long to pounce on his offer from Illinois.
Illini assistants Alex Golesh and Bill Cubit watched the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Crouch workout at his school on Wednesday afternoon and left behind a scholarship offer. By the end of the day, Crouch was in the fold.
Crouch chose Illinois over offers from Kent State, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan.
The fourth commit for Illinois in the class-of-2014, Crouch threw for 2,077 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior, while rushing for another 11 scores.
