BUFORD, Ga. -- Against a solid field that included several major college prospects at the Elite 11 Atlanta Regional on Friday, Clemson commit Deshaun Watson came out on top.
How'd the 2014 standout from Gainesville (Ga.) do it?
By excelling in just about every segment of the event. Then, at the very end, he fired on all cylinders with a series of crisp, accurate throws that impressed all on hand.
When the camp was over, Watson was named MVP and given an invitation to the Elite 11 finals this summer, which will be held in Oregon in conjunction with The Opening.
"I think I did pretty good," Watson said. "But there are always things I can do better at. Little things. Like drops from under center. It's crazy [getting the invite]. It's something I've always dreamed of."
Watson will visit Clemson on Saturday for the Tigers' spring game. He said he remains 100 percent committed to Clemson. Even so, Watson admittedly is keeping his options open "just in case."
Here are some highlights of Watson in action Friday.
