Gardena (Calif.) Serra quarterback Jalen Greene has been patiently waiting for his first offer. Greene plays at a high level in one of the toughest leagues in California.
Boise State is the current leader for Jalen Greene.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound quarterback has generated some major interest among West coast schools but it was the Boise State Broncos who made the first offer.
After a recent trip to Boise, they may be in the driver's seat to land this four-star quarterback.
"I really like the campus and the coaches over there," Greene said. "They were talking to me for a while saying they wanted to offer but they wanted to meet me. They told me they like me as a football player but they really like my character. That was a big part of them offering me."
Is a decision in the near future for Greene following the offer and visit to Boise?
"I'm talking to my parents about it," he said. "Boise is definitely on top for me right now. They are definitely the team to beat."
Arizona and Arizona State are also showing interest in Greene. He said both programs indicated an offer could be made if he were to visit.
"Both schools said I'm high on their list and they want to offer me. They told me if I came over to visit they would think about making an offer then. I'm still open to anyone coming around even though I like Boise State."
Greene said he is working on trying to be more accurate as a passer and his timing with his wide receivers.
