Johnson brings legitimate size to the paint

Trends are always changing. Now the most recent trend in basketball recruiting is for top recruits to move up a class. Five-star prospect Dakari Johnson is the latest to move from 2014 to the 2013 class.

Johnson, who is originally from New York and attending Montverde (Fla.) Academy, was the the No. 12 ranked prospect in the 2014 class. He will slide into the 2013 class at No. 13.

A 6-10, 250-pound center, Johnson is a formidable defender and rebounder who has worked himself into good shape under Coach Kevin Boyle. His offensive skill game is on the rise but still in the developmental state.

Syracuse, Florida, Kentucky are three of the schools most prominent in Johnson's recruitment. Kansas, Georgia, Georgetown and Ohio State amongst others are also recruiting Johnson.

Top prospects Andrew Wiggins, Noah Vonleh and Wayne Selden have also left the 2014 class for the 2013 class.
