Decision time for Johnson

Dakari Johnson

Johnson is a legitimate presence around the basket.

Five-star center Dakari Johnson recently moved up into the 2013 class and now he is ready to announce his college decision.

Georgetown, Kentucky and Syracuse are the finalist, and Kentucky is expected to add another piece to its No. 1 ranked recruiting class.

Johnson, a 6-10, 250-pound center from Montverde (Fla.) Academy, will declare his college destination on ESPNU at halftime of the Gonzaga (D.C.) and Salesian (Calif.) game, which takes place after Montverde takes on Chicago Simeon High School and five-star Duke recruit Jabari Parker.

Johnson is a developing high level center prospect, who can impact games with his size and rebounding ability.

He is currently the No. 13 ranked prospect by 247Sports and the No. 7 ranked prospect in the 247Composite.

If Johnson does indeed pick Kentucky, then the Wildcats will have an upper level five-star prospect at every position in its 2013 recruiting class- point guard Andrew Harrison, wings Aaron Harrison and James Young, four man Marcus Lee and then Johnson at the five. The class also includes four-star forward Derek Willis.
