Delaware QB/WR Duo With BCS Looks

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Middletown (DE) High is going to be home of one of the nation’s top quarterback-receiver duos the next two seasons in Darius Wade and Chris Godwin.

The two class-of-2014 prospects were outstanding on Saturday at the PA Swag Athletics 7-on-7 Passing Camp in the Philadelphia area, proving why each already holds early offers.

The 6-foot-3, 186-pound Godwin is explosive in two phases of the game, going for over 500 receiving yards and seven scores during his sophomore season while also returning four kicks for touchdowns.

Boston College, Massachusetts, N.C. State, Rutgers and Delaware have extended early scholarships to Godwin, with the likes of Miami, Penn State and West Virginia showing personal interest.

Wade has full-rides from Massachusetts and Delaware, after he threw for 1,705 yards and 22 touchdowns, while rushing for another 260 yards and three scores this past fall. He thinks that Boston College and Rutgers may be close to pulling the trigger.

This summer, both prospects say they’ll camp at Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina. Wade also says he’ll be going to Rutgers, Temple and Virginia Tech.

Both are completely open with the fresh recruiting process, however, they each grew up with a couple of favorites.

“I grew up rooting for Penn State and Michigan,” Godwin said. “My Dad is a big Michigan fan. I was always watching Michigan because he wanted me to.”

“A couple teams I’m really interested in is Florida State and Clemson,” Wade began. “Those are two teams I’d really like to go to and be a part of. I just know they have two completely different systems. Florida State has the pro-style which I’m in now, and Clemson has that nice spread offense which is fast-paced and seems like a lot of fun to be part of. Both have been notably good teams the last couple years.”

Speaking of good teams, Wade and Godwin helped lead Middletown to an 11-2 record and a state championship during the fall.
