REDONDO BEACH, Calif. – A fast riser on the west coast at the cornerback position is San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills defender Devin Holiday. At 5-10, 170 pounds, Holiday isn’t an imposing presence at the cornerback spot but he makes a big impact in the pass game.
Holiday has put together some outstanding performances in camp settings over the past month. He was one of the top performers at the NLA 7on7 tournament in Las Vegas back in March. He then put together a great performance at the L.A. Nike Camp on April 1 and most recently he had a tremendous showing at the IMG 7on7 West Regionals.
All of those performances are indicators of things to come on the recruiting trail and some of that interest is already here. Already with an offer from Hawaii, Holiday recently added an offer from Arizona to his list as well.
“It came in on Thursday,” Holida said of his latest offer. “It was unexpected but I was excited about it. My coach talked to them and stuff. I think it’s a good program. They’ve got a new coaching staff so that’s exciting. I went down to the campus and it was nice. I’m probably going to try to go again in a few weeks.”
Colorado, Arizona State and Washington State are three other programs that have expressed interest in the fast-rising prospect. He’s been on visits to Arizona State, UCLA, USC and Arizona this spring and hopes to get to Arizona again following his offer.
