Stone is a force down low.
Considered the top low post player in the 2015 class, Diamond Stone has the attention of numerous schools. His recruitment, however, is shaping up as an in-state battle.
Out of Milwaukee (Wisc.) Dominican High School, Stone has local school Marquette and Wisconsin at the top of his school list. At last weekend's USA Developmental National Team Mini-Camp, he indicated the both schools were recruiting him the hardest and are also his favorites.
Stone, a 6-10, 260-pound center, is open to other schools, isn't just limiting himself to just Marquette and Wisconsin.
Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon recently watched Stone workout, and assistant coaches from Indiana and DePaul checked on Stone.
Maryland and Indiana haven't offered yet, but DePaul, Texas A&M, Georgetown, UCLA and Connecticut have offered along with Marquette and Wisconsin.
Stone noted that interest is also coming in from North Carolina, Kentucky and Duke.
In no hurry to make a decision, Stone will look closely at how schools utilize their big men when that time comes. He is looking for an inside oriented attack where he can also make plays in the high post.
