Brownsburg (Ind.) High athlete Chase Dutra visited Western Michigan last weekend and on Tuesday, the Broncos became the first program to offer.
“All the morning workouts you go to, the sweating and the pain you go through, all paid off for that one offer,” Dutra said. He visited Ball State on Tuesday. “It just hits you in the face and it’s a huge relief knowing my college will be paid for. It’s pretty much indescribable.”
Recruited as a safety, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Dutra is very high on Western Michigan following his trip.
“The coaching staff was really relaxed, they were cool and the facilities are pretty nice,” Dutra said. “They have an indoor place that I liked. The coaches really got me. They were cool. Coach (Lou) Esposito was joking around a lot. They have a great knowledge for the game and I like how they got after it at practice. The tempo was really good.”
Dutra has attended a couple spring practices at Indiana and on Wednesday he’ll visit Purdue.
