An epic recruiting weekend is shaping up in Happy Valley, as No. 23 Penn State gets set to host No. 3 Alabama.

Ohio State RB commit Brionte Dunn will be taking his second trip to Penn State.
Many of the nation’s top prospects will get a chance to literally soak in one of college football’s best atmospheres, as over 106,000 will file into Beaver Stadium to brave the potential storms for a white out.
From their fifty-yard-line seats, Ohio State commit Brionte Dunn, and seven uncommitted Top247 prospects including five-star athlete Devin Fuller, receiver Joel Caleb, tight end Kent Taylor, receiver Canaan Severin, defensive lineman Korren Kirven, linebacker Quanzell Lambert and defensive tackle Jamil Pollard will take in one of the weekend’s top games, and will witness one of the largest student sections in the country.
Other top recruits expected to attend include four-star safety Demetrious Cox, Bam Bradley and William Mahone.
Working that group for commitments will be many of Penn State’s 2012 commits, which currently ranks as 247Sports No. 16 class in the country. Armani Reeves, Camren Williams, Malik Golden, Eugene Lewis and Nyeem Wartman are five of the Nittany Lions best recruiters. Also looking to attend are Austin Johnson, Brent Wilkerson, Jesse James, J.P. Holtz, Jake Kiley and Tommy Schutt.
This game definitely won’t be short on top juniors.
Athlete Ben Gedeon, defensive lineman Dajuan Drennon, running back Derrick Green, offensive lineman Patrick Kugler, defensive tackle Greg Webb and athlete Ryan Switzer are all reporting early Penn State offers. All but Switzer are listed as Future247 prospects. Other Future247 prospects that have confirmed they’re coming are tight end Adam Breneman, linebacker Buddy Brown, athlete Delando Johnson and quarterback Ryan Burns.
This recruiting weekend is similar to the one Penn State hosted against Ohio State back in 2005, and against Michigan last fall. Both dates went a long way towards the Nittany Lions recruiting success in those classes, a top-10 year in 2006, and several key difference makers in 2011. It’s hard to imagine Coach Joe Paterno and company won’t see the same type of results this Saturday.
