Tacoma (Wash.) Bellarmine Prep junior quarterback Sefo Liufau is seeing his recruiting interest increase. The 6-foot-3, 216 pound gun-slinger is hearing from Boise State, Washingotn, Oregon State, Wisconsin, Duke and Vanderbilt among others.
This summer he was able to spend the day at Washington for one of their camps. His grandfather is a huge Husky fan, according to Liufau.
"I think I want to stay close to home, on the west coast," Liufau said. "I've gotten a lot of camp invites and I want to take some visits this Fall. I know I'll get over to a few Husky games and probably some other places."
Liufau said he is more of a pro-style quarterback but can keep plays alive with his feet. Last season he threw for 21 touchdowns and had 9 interceptions. He also threw for over 2,000 yards and rushed for nearly 500 more.
"Coaches like my competitiveness and my leadership," he said. "I love to win and I always stay positive. I've been working on my footwork and my pass drops this summer."
Liufau is a member of the Future247 watch list.
Expert take:
Sounds like Washington could have an early leg up for Liufau. He will likely gain double-digit offers later this Fall and could open up his recruitment and look around before deciding.
