Olney (Md.) Good Counsel athlete Stefon Diggs took his first official visit earlier this month when he tripped out to Cal. The five-star prep has an offer sheet a mile long but keeps things close to the vest in terms of his recruitment.
Florida, Auburn, Ohio State and Michigan remain high on his interest board along with a few others. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound speedster doesn't have any other confirmed visit plans at this time.
The nation's No. 22 prep talked briefly with 247Sports about his time in Berkeley.
"It was pretty cool to see Cal," Diggs said. "It's different from what I'm used to out here. But I loved it, I loved being out there and the surrounding area."
Cal has been creating quite the buzz with the new facilities they are completing along with a few big commitments recently.
Diggs said the Bears showed him some very enticing aspects while he was there.
"I loved everything about it," he said. "I felt comfortable with the coaches which is important. The new facilities and stuff are pretty unique. They have a separate locker room just for former alumni of the programs. Berkeley is a different place but I liked it."
With cross-country recruiting there is always the concern of distance. But Diggs said that isn't a problem for him.
"There is no such thing as too far from home for me," he said. "That's not anything I'm worried about."
The Bears view Diggs as a dynamic play-maker, similar to former receiver Desean Jackson.
