Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive end Damion Turpin decided to end the recruiting process today. The 6-foot-3, 250 pound three-star committed to the Bruins over offers from Arizona State, Colorado and Nebraska among others.
Turpin is the second commitment from Dominguez this week for the Bruins, joining offensive lineman Lacy Westbrook.
"Yeah I committed to UCLA," Turpin said. "I just decided I would be better to stay closer to home and benefit from the support of my family and friends. The academics at UCLA are top notch which was another factor in my decision."
Turpin went on to say, "I think UCLA is back on the rise and I'm excited to be a part of the program."
This season he has been plagued by injuries which may have scared a few schools away. He has just started playing ball again and is already making an impact.
The talented defender has not taken any of his official visits and said he will use all five of his allotted trips.
