Warren (Mich.) De La Salle quarterback Giovanni Rescigno announced his commitment to Rutgers on Sunday.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Rescigno pulled the trigger during his official visit to the Scarlet Knights campus.
Rescigno becomes commit No. 23 for Rutgers in the class-of-2014, replacing fellow Detroit-area quarterback Tyler Wiegers, who originally pledged to the Scarlet Knights before decommitting and eventually giving a verbal to Iowa.
As a senior, Rescigno threw for 1,238 yards and 14 touchdowns, while adding another 448 yards rushing and four scores.
