Charleston (Ill.) High safety Dillan Cazley committed to Illinois on Tuesday while visiting the school's campus, giving Coach Tim Beckman his first pledge in the class of 2013.
"The coaches," Cazley stated. "I want to play for these guys. I came in and saw them workout and I was like I have to be a part of this.
In doing so, the Illini are getting a prolific defensive back.
As a junior, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Cazley racked up 126 tackles, 12 pass breakups, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. He also returned four kickoffs for touchdowns.
"I watched the team compete and they're a good group of guys," Cazley said. "They were going at it. It's the best conditioned team I've seen in a long time. I've never seen a group of guys like that and a group of coaches like that and I had to join it."
