Copeland with surprise commitment

Isaac Copeland will be a Hoya.

2014 four-star prospect Isaac Copeland won’t be staying home for college but he won’t be going far from home either.

On Sunday the 6-9, 200-pound small forward Charlottesville (Va.) Miller School committed to Georgetown.

A number of schools were recruiting Copeland but the main competitors with Georgetown were Florida State and North Carolina State.

Ranked No. 32 by 247Sports and with a No. 40 247Composite ranking, Miller is Georgetown’s first commitment in the 2014 class.

A prospect on the rise, Copeland could very easily move up the rankings as he continues to mature and improve. He has tremendous length for a small forward and is athletic and skilled. In fact, Copeland resembles current Georgetown star Otto Porter in many aspects.
