Lawrence boosts Cincinnati

Lawrence is an inside/outside threat.

The commitment of five-star prospect Jermaine Lawrence catapults Cincinnati into the 2013 team recruiting rankings.

Cincinnati will move to No. 21 in the revised Top 47, ahead of Notre Dame and right behind Missouri. Seton Hall will drop out of the Top 47.

Lawrence, a 6-9, 220-pound combo forward out of Bayside (N.Y.) Pope John XXIII High School, will give Cincinnati instant scoring and rebounding. A good three-point shooter, Lawrence scores at all three levels. He prefers to face the basket, but he has a post up game and midrange pull up game as well.

A host of schools recruited Lawrence, but in the end Cincinnati beat out St. John’s and UNLV to land Lawrence.

Ranked No. 24 by 247Sports and No. 19 in the 247Composite, Lawrence joins three-star recruits Kevin Johnson, Deshaun Morman, Troy Caupain and Jamaree Strickland in the Cincinnati recruiting class.
