Robinson has three on top

While most of the top offensive linemen in the state of Texas have already made commitments, Hurst L.D. Bell tackle Jesse Robinson is an exception. Because of that, the 6-foot-6, 275-pound senior has found himself a wanted man.

Robinson has several offers at the moment and could be on the verge of another Big 12 one very soon.

“I have offers now from Kansas State, North Texas, Nevada, Houston, Texas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Rice and Arkansas State,” Robinson said. “Texas Tech hasn’t offered me yet but they’ve said they’re going to offer me pretty soon here.”

Robinson has not set up any official visits just yet but he has spoken to schools about them and has two destinations in mind.

“I’ve talked to Houston about a visit after the season,” he said. “I’m going to get one set up for Baylor too. I haven’t set any exact dates just yet though.”

Though he remains open to all suitors, Robinson admits that a trio of schools stands out at the moment.

“Houston, TCU and Baylor – that’s my top three right now,” he said.

While Houston has offered the three-star prospect, the other two schools have yet to do so. However, they have both talked to him about the possibility.

“Baylor said that, on their board right now, I’m the next guy,” Robinson said. “They’re just waiting on one other person to make a decision. TCU, they wanted to see how my summer went before they offered. They wanted to see my put on size and add strength. I was about 250 (pounds) last season but I’ve put on weight.”

Robinson’s offer list and top schools look a lot like defensive end teammate Vili Leveni. While the two have discussed the possibility of attending the same college, they are by no means a package deal.

“We’ve talked about it and how it would be cool,” Robinson said. “It’s not going to influence either of us though. If it happens, it happens.”
