Julius Randle will be a game changer wherever he ends up.
The Julius Randle announcement scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 EST. is one of the more anticipated announcements in recruiting coverage history.
Although officially down to Florida, Kansas, Kentucky and Texas, Randle is expected to pick either Kansas or Kentucky tomorrow. A Florida or Texas commitment is possible but would be a shocker.
A 6-9, 250-pound power forward from Plano (Texas) Prestonwood Christian, Randle has visited all four schools. Kentucky was his first visit back in September while Kansas was his most recent visit in mid-February.
Randle, the No. 2 ranked prospect by 247Sports and in the 247Composite, is expected to have a major impact as a freshman. Physical and powerful, Randle is also highly skilled.
Kentucky and Kansas already have the top two recruiting classes in the country respectively. Both programs are also in contention for consensus No. 1 ranked Andrew Wiggins, and Kentucky is still in play for 247Sports’ No. 5 ranked prospect Aaron Gordon.
Randle isn’t the only highly sought after prospect announcing tomorrow. Later in the afternoon Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep power forward Gavin Schilling will announce between Michigan State, Minnesota, UCLA and Villanova.
Schilling is the No. 127 ranked prospect by 247Sports and ranked No. 174 in the 247Composite.
