Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller running back Keith Watkins confirmed with 247Sports that he committed to Northwestern on Saturday.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Watkins chose the Wildcats over offers from the likes of Arizona State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, and West Virginia.
Watkins said one major thing led to his commitment to Northwestern. He visited Evanston last weekend.
"Coach (Pat) Fitz(gerald)!"
Watkins is the 16th pledge for Northwestern in the class-of-2013.
Ranked as the nation's No. 23 all-purpose back according to 247Sports, Watkins rushed for 687 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior, while adding another 168 yards receiving and four more scores.
