Carmel (Ind.) High linebacker John Kenny visited Purdue on Wednesday for a Boilermakers spring practice and left West Lafayette with another scholarship offer.
One of the top prospects in the Hoosier State, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Kenny previously held offers from the likes of Arizona, Boise State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Western Kentucky.
“It was good, it was fun,” Kenny said, adding he spent most of his time hanging out with Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis safety Antonio Allen, who also has a Purdue offer. “I really liked the coaches and the practice was fun. I liked the facilities. It was a good visit.”
Kenny said he had good conversations with Purdue coach Danny Hope and his staff.
“They said they really wanted me and they wanted to offer on campus on the spot when they met me,” Kenny recapped. His senior teammate Jimmy Herman signed with the Boilers in 2012. “That was cool watching a practice and meeting them.”
Kenny has taken recent visits to Illinois and Indiana. Over his spring break he plans to get out to Arizona, Florida and Iowa. After that he plans to narrow his list to a couple favorites.
As a junior, Kenny helped Carmel win a state championship, racking up 120 tackles including 19 stops for loss, eight sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and two blocked kicks.
