Palma commits to Stanford

Palma said he may consider taking other visits despite his commitment.

Tulare (Calif.) Mission Oak linebacker Kevin Palma committed to Stanford tonight. After the Cardinal made a late offer to the 6-foot-2, 235-pound prep only a few weeks ago, they became an instant contender to sign the bruising back.

Tonight, the four-star made the call to let the coaching staff know he was going to play for Stanford.

"I just love the program and the academics," Palma said. "It doesn't get any better than Stanford when you are looking for the best of both. I love the proximity to home too so my family can see me play."

Palma considers himself a solid commit, but has not firmly decided if he wants to take any other trips.

"I'm not sure about that yet," he said. "I still could take some other trips but I just don't know."

The talented linebacker is the nation's No. 222 ranked overall player in the class of 2013.

Stanford now has 7 verbal commitments on the year.
