One of two weekend pledges, Marcus McShepard committed to Northwestern over an offer from Penn State.
It was a good weekend for Northwestern on the recruiting trail as Pat Fitzgerald and his coaching staff picked up two commitments from a pair of official visitors.
Cleveland (Ohio) Heights speedy receiver/cornerback Marcus McShepard gave his pledge to the Wildcats over offers from the likes of Penn State, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Ohio and Toledo, his grandfather tells 247Sports.
On Saturday, athlete Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East athlete Tommy Fuessel pulled the trigger for Northwestern. The former Northern Illinois commit had a huge senior season, rushing for 1,502 yards and 21 scores while passing for another 1,141 yards and eight touchdowns. Fuessel better projects as a receiver or safety for the Wildcats.
Northwestern is up to 20 commits in the class-of-2013.
