Miami SPARQ Combine Report

Four-star quarterback/athlete Treon Harris (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington) was impressive during Sunday’s Miami Nike Combine at North Miami Stadium, posting outstanding testing times and earning the first invite to The Opening, which will be held again on the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Ore., this summer.

Four-star Treon Harris is the first athlete to be invited to The Opening this year.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound posted an electronically-timed 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash, ran the pro agility shuttle in 4.31 seconds, had a 30.4-inch vertical leap and threw the power ball 34 feet.

Harris, the younger brother of Houston Texans cornerback Brandon Harris, led Booker T. Washington to the Class 4A championship in Florida this season and is ranked as the nation’s No. 23 athlete in the 2014 class by 247Sports.

Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Florida International, Illinois, Ole Miss, South Florida and Central Florida all have offered Harris, who is coached by his father, Tim “Ice” Harris at Booker T. Washington.



The Nike SPARQ Combines test athletes in the 40-yard dash (straight line speed), pro agility shuttle (lateral quickness and change of direction), vertical leap (explosiveness and athleticism) and power ball throw (strength and explosiveness) and all athletes are given a SPARQ score, which gives a gauge of overall athleticism.

-Florida State 2014 wide receiver commit Jojo Robinson (Miami, Fla./Northwestern) was the top overall performer at the event. Robinson measured in at 6-foot, 174 pounds, ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash, a 4.53 shuttle, a 32-inch vertical and threw the power ball 37.5 feet for the top SPARQ rating at the event- 97.41.



-Defensive end Keyon Brown (Wauchula, Fla./Hardee) measured in at 6-foot-3, 235-pounds and posted the No. 8 SPARQ score (90.75) at the event. Brown currently is the No. 10 weakside defensive end in the 2014 class by 247Sports and holds an early offer from Miami.

-Miami (Fla.) offensive tackle commit Trevor Darling (Miami, Fla./Central) measured in at 6-foot-4, 307 pounds and threw the power ball 40 feet. Darling currently is the No. 14 offensive tackle prospect in the 2014 class according to 247Sports.



-Class of 2014 linebacker Kevin Bronson (Delray Beach, Fla./Village Academy) posted the second-highest SPARQ score on the day at 96.24 and measured in at 6-foot-3, 231 pounds. Miami (Fla.), Virginia Tech and South Florida are among the schools showing early interest.

-Four star receiver Jacob McCrary (Miami, Fla./Coral Reef) measured in at 6-foot, 171 pounds and ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash. He also posted a vertical leap of 34 inches. The former Florida State commit is ranked as the No. 34 receiver prospect in the 2014 class by 247Sports.

-Class of 2014 defensive end/tackle Anthony Moten (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) measured in at 6-foot-4, 279 pounds, threw the power ball a combine-high 42 feet and finished with a 91.68 SPARQ rating. Miami (Fla.), South Carolina, Florida State and Ohio State all have extended early offers.

-Wide receiver Lamar Parker (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington) ran a blistering 4.44-second 40-yard dash and had a stellar 4.25 shuttle. The 5-foot-8, 152-pound Class of 2014 prospect has offers from FIU and Florida State.

-Class of 2015 defensive back Jaquan Johnson (Miami, Fla./Killian) measured in at 5-foot-10, 169 pounds, ran a 4.38 shuttle, a 4.68 40 and jumped 31.9 in the vertical. Florida, Florida State, Marshall and Clemson already have offered.

Booker T. Washington running back Krondis Larry, a Class of 2014 prospect, ran the fastest 40 time at the event in 4.36 seconds. ...Class of 2014 offensive lineman Kai Absheer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) measured in at 6-foot-5, 296 pounds and threw the power ball 38.5 feet. ...Class of 2014 quarterback Nico Pierre (Miami, Fla./Coral Reef) posted the third-highest SPARQ score at the event- 95.61. Clemson, Kansas State and Louisville are among his early offers. ...Class of 2016 cornerback Maurice Codner (Jacksonville, Fla./Wolfson) ran 4.51 in the 40-yard dash and measured in at 5-foot-9, 144 pounds. He’s one to watch down the road as is 2016 defensive back Chavez Pownell (Tampa, Fla./Jefferson), who posted an 83.19 SPARQ rating. ...Class of 2015 cornerback Nicholas Falconer (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Lake Brantley) has the height (measured in at 6 foot), but was only 145 pounds. That being said, he’s got two more years in his high school program and an excellent frame. His shuttle time was 4.31, which was among the best of the day. ...Class of 2015 safety Gary Scott (Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian) also had a shuttle time of 4.31 and measured in at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds. ...Class of 2015 safety Antonyo Sotolongo (Miami, Fla./Killian) had an excellent vertical of 37.3 inches and measured in at 5-foot-11.5, 173. ...2015 receiver Steven Claude (Miami, Fla./Norland) posted an 88.11 SPARQ rating.
