Milpitas (Calif.) running back Squally Canada landed his first offer last week. Fortunately for the 6-foot, 185-pound prep it was an offer from Boise State, one he highly covets.
"I've got great interest in Boise State," Canada said. "They have been showing a lot of interest in me for a while now. I really like coach (Keith) Bhonapha, he is a real nice guy."
Colorado has also expressed strong interest and told Canada they will "start scouting him hard."
Canada is playing safety and running back at Milpitas. However programs are recruiting him primarily at running back.
"They like how physical I am and the speed I have that makes people miss. My grades are real good too so coaches like that I've taken care of that. I'm just working on my 1-on-1 skills on defense and my catching."
The three-star back has visited San Jose State and will visit Boise State in June. For now the Broncos remain in good position.
"I think I might make an early decision and I like that offer from Boise. I know my dad is excited about it too. I actually like that blue field."
Canada said Cal and Wisconsin are two programs he would like to hear more from.
