Da'Shawn Hand

Hand shined among the nation's top 2013 and 2014 players during the summer at The Opening.

The nation's No. 1 prospect in the class-of-2014 according to both 247Sports and the 247Composite in Woodbridge (Va.) High defensive end Da'Shawn Hand released his top-10 on Friday morning.

The 6-foot-5, 247-pound Hand tweeted out that Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia Tech are his favorite schools.

Hand is scheduled to visit Ohio State on Saturday for the Michigan game. He also made it to North Carolina and West Virginia for games this fall, and visited Virginia Tech right before the season.

Hand had 84 tackles and 21 sacks as a sophomore.

Talked to Hand today. He and his teammate Marcus Boone are excited about getting over to Columbus for the game. We talked about the rivalry and how he was looking forward to checking out one of the best annual games in the country.

Normally I agree with you, but he's a 2014 kid so it's actually quite early.
He also said he plans to cut this list in half in the coming months- my guess would be shortly after signing day.
The ones that are ridiculous are the ones that narrow it to double digits at any point during their senior year or if they go to a top 15 right before the season.
Those guys are just playing games.

That is totally false at this stage of Hands recruitment. VT is in the driver seat early on, can they hold on? Time will tell.
