Adams favoring Lobos

Adams is a powerful shooting guard.

2014 prospect Xavier Adams is making waves at Alvarado (Texas) High School, and one school has positioned itself at the front of his recruitment.

A 6-5, 195-pound shooting guard averaging 27 points and 14 rebounds per game, Adams has offers from Colorado State, Creighton, Nebraska, North Texas, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and Tulsa, but it the offer from New Mexico that has the attention of Adams.

Currently his favorite school, New Mexico is hosting Adams on an official visit this weekend.

Adams’ travel team coach Vonzell Thomas, who coached North Texas star Tony Mitchell, is sold on a successful future for Adams.

“He is a strong rebounding guard with a good motor,” said Thomas of The Dream basketball club. “Xavier doesn’t do anything great, but does everything well. He has all the intangibles of the game and is coachable. He is the type of kid every coach would love to have on his team.”
