Macomb (Ill.) Senior offensive lineman Nick Severs visited the Iowa State campus on Saturday with his whole family and left campus committed to the Cyclones.
This was the 6-foot-4, 260-pound Severs third visit to Ames.
"I just got a chance to go over there with the family and check it all out and go over the academic stuff, and talk to the coaches one last time, and that kind of sealed the deal."
Severs is the 12th pledge for Iowa State in the class-of-2013. He also held offers from Cincinnati, Ball State and Western Michigan.
"Out of all the schools I visited, I never felt a program that felt so family related," Severs said. "It's close to home and that felt right. I love the coaches, and all the players I got to meet, I really enjoy all of them and they're good guys and it felt like somewhere I could fit in."
