The last line reads perfectly in robot voice. “Must join Big Ten.” “Must join Big 12.” Because that’s what it’s requiring for nearly all of these schools that are jumping to new conferences: robotic approaches with no capacity for gut feelings, second thoughts or guilty consciences.
Notre Dame still has leverage; it’s still a school any current league would gladly do business with. But it does indeed have less leverage than it had at any previous milestone on the BCS journey
