Saturday was a big recruiting day for Northwestern as they hosted many of the Chicago area’s top talents for its victory over Vanderbilt.

Westphal visited Northwestern on Saturday and his next scheduled visit is to see the other in-state power Illinois.
One of the top underclassmen in the building was Bolingbrook (Ill.) High Top247 junior cornerback Parrker Westphal.
“It was good,” Westphal said of the 23-13 Wildcats win. “The offense they finally pulled through.”
Northwestern is one of several schools to already offer the 6-foot, 180-pound Westphal, along with the likes of Michigan, Cincinnati, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue and West Virginia. He had visited Evanston in the past for a practice and Saturday’s visit furthered his interest in the Wildcats.
“It was a positive,” Westphal said. “I got to see the atmosphere and the fans and I got to witness how the coaches operate on game day. I liked the defense holding their ground and Coach Jerry Brown coaching the DBs.”
The next scheduled visit for Westphal will be the Illinois game on Sept. 22. He’ll make the trip with his teammate and Illini class-of-2013 commit Aaron Bailey.
Ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 13 cornerback and No. 165 prospect overall in the class-of-2014, Westphal has also visited Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Iowa, Nebraska and Purdue in the past.
Westphal helped lead Bolingbrook to a state championship as a sophomore, racking up 56 tackles including seven stops for loss, 20 pass breakups, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
