Peat talks Stanford commitment

Stanford has landed a big commitment from Tempe (Ariz.) Corona Del Sol offensive tackle Andrus Peat moments ago.

The 6-foot-7, 305-pound prep had informed me days ago his decision was down to Nebraska and Stanford but was undecided. In the end the academic offerings of Stanford were too much to pass up.

"The opportunity to earn a degree at Stanford was just too good to pass up," Peat said. "I have a lot of respect for Nebraska and the coaching staff, but my heart was with Stanford."

Most assumed Andrus would follow his brother Todd who is currently enrolled at Nebraska. However, Todd was not offered by Stanford, which ultimately changes the game.

"He understood my decision," he said. "We wanted to play together but this was a great opportunity I felt I couldn't pass up on. I'm excited to get up there and start getting ready to compete."

The Cardinal may not be done today as Kyle Murphy and Aziz Shittu both announce today and could end up at Stanford as well.

Peat joins an already impressive offensive line class that still has potential to add 5-star Kyle Murphy.
