The nation’s top overall prospect, defensive end Robert Nkemdiche (Loganville, Ga./Grayson), announced for Ole Miss during a nationally-televised press conference at his high school.
Nkemdiche will join his brother Denzel Nkemdiche, on the Rebels roster.
Scouting Report from Gerry Hamilton
“Nkemdiche is the top ranked prospect in the 2013 class for good reason. First off, the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder has a coaches dream body type and the athletic ability and motor to go with it. While Nkemdiche is listed as a strong-side end, he has the ability and versatility to line anywhere on the defensive line at the next level with defensive tackle in a four-man front being most likely. The nations top prospect dominated practices at the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game with a combination of an explosive first step for his size, natural strength and power, and an array of pass rushing moves.”
Commitment Impact from JC Shurburtt
“It doesn’t get much bigger than landing the nation’s top prospect and this makes up for the loss of five-star defensive end Elijah Daniel to Auburn from earlier this morning. Nkemdiche is an instant impact player on the Rebels’ roster. I expect him to slide inside, play outside and be used a number of ways within the scheme. LSU made a move, but Ole Miss was able to close the deal on a huge pick-up.”
