Top available 2013 point guards

Four-star prospect Rysheed Jordan sits atop a short list of available 2013 point guards.

Rysheed Jordan

Rysheed Jordan keeps the pressure on defenders.

Rysheed Jordan (No. 56 247Sports & No. 50 247Composite ranking)
6-2, 175-pounds, Philadelphia (Pa.) Vaux Roberts

Schools involved: St. John's, Temple and UCLA

Jordan has visited all three of his final schools and will decide on one of them after his high school season. The big question for Jordan is whether or not he wants to stay close to home or play on the west coast.

Jaylen Brantley (No. 108 247Sports & No. 186 247Composite ranking)
5-10, 155-pounds, Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame Prep

Schools involved: Boston College, Georgetown, Georgia Tech and Rhode Island

Despite his ability to score from the perimeter, Brantley doesn't have a lot of activity on the recruiting front. Schools are keeping an eye on him in case they need to make a run for a scoring point guard in the spring.

Cornelius Elder (No. 130 247Sports & No. 212 247Composite ranking)
5-10, 165-pounds, Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth School

Schools involved: UCLA, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Alabama, Murray State

More highly recruited as a football prospect, Elder has the opportunity to also play basketball at UCLA, Ohio State, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss amongst others. If he does play football, UCLA and Ohio State are considered the favorites. Elder, however, would love to just play basketball. Murray State is a basketball only option and Alabama has shown some basketball interest.

Jalen James (No. 132 247Sports & No. 199 247Composite ranking)
6-2, 180-pounds, La Porte (Ind.) La Lamiere School

Schools involved: Auburn, College of Charleston, Missouri, UNLV and Western Kentucky

A former Illinois commitment, James is now being pursued the hardest by the schools mentioned above. His recruitment is heating up as he is having a strong season. There is no time table on making a decision.

Jonathan Severe (No. 152 247Sports & No. 203 247Composite ranking)
6-2, 185-pounds, Middle Village (N.Y.) Christ the KIng Regional

Schools involved: Alabama, Rhode Island, Florida State and Virginia Tech

Capable of playing either guard position, Severe recently picked up an Alabama offer. Rhode Island has also offered and has been recruiting Severe over the long haul. Florida State and Virginia Tech are also showing interest.

Travis Jorgenson (No. 164 247Sports & No. 156 247Composite ranking)
6-0, 165-pounds, New Hampton (N.H.) School

Schools involved: Boston College, Creighton and Georgia Tech

A former Missouri commitment, Jorgenson officially visited Georgia Tech this past weekend. He has also visited Boston College and Georgia Tech.
