Rutgers landed a major commitment on Saturday when Top247 receiver Saeed Blacknall (Englishtown, N.J./Manalapan) committed to the Scarlet Knights.
Saeed Blacknall is commitment No. 20 for Rutgers in the 2014 cycle.
Blacknall announced his decision via his Twitter account, then confirmed with 247Sports via text.
“Yes, I committed to Rutgers,” the message said.
Blacknall held offers from Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Boston College, Clemson, Nebraska, Michigan, Florida State and a host of others.
He was thought to be leaning to LSU or Alabama, but camp visits to those two programs, then an unofficial visit to Rutgers last week, trended his recruitment toward the in-state Scarlet Knights.
Blacknall gives Rutgers two four-star in-state receivers in the 2014 class, joining Adonis Jennings (Sicklerville Timber Creek).
Blacknall is the No. 81 overall prospect in the recruiting industry-generated 247Composite rankings for the Class of 2014.
The class would rank No. 3 in the Big Ten, which will be the Scarlet Knights’ conference home starting next season.
