SEC Breakdown: Texas A&M

Quick Hit: Texas A&M's 2013 Recruiting Class

Texas A&M continued to be one of the hottest programs in college football during this recruiting cycle as Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies raked in the nation’s No. 10 overall class and the No. 5 class in the Southeastern Conference. In this video feature, 247Sports, SECPressPass and Saturday Down South take a look at Texas A&M.

Notes

Early Impact-The Aggies enrolled eight prospects at mid-term including four-star prep school receiver Jaquay Willams (Fork Union, Va./Prep), four-star JUCO linebacker Tommy Sanders and three-star JUCO offensive tackle Jeremiah Stucky (City College of San Francisco). Williams, a Georgia native who signed with Auburn out of high school, is talented enough to make an early impact in the passing game.

First-year potential- The No. 2 prospect in the state of Texas for this cycle, Ricky Seals-Jones (Sealy, Texas), is going to start his career at receiver. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder creates a size mismatch against smaller defensive backs and is an excellent athlete. Speedster receivers Sebastian LaRue and Laquvionte Gonzalez also have a chance to contribute in the passing game.

Nuts and Bolts- Of the 31 players in this class that enrolled or signed, 23 are from the state of Texas. The Aggies nabbed seven top 25 prospects from the Lone Star State this cycle and already are off to a blistering start for the 2014 cycle with seven in-state commits, five of which are rated four stars or higher by 247Sports. While this class is Texas-heavy, the Aggies did show more of a national reach by nabbing Williams (native of Georgia) and LaRue (California).
