SDSU has offered Richardson as a TE.
The Aztecs have made waves, almost becoming downright pesky on the recruiting trail. This week the San Diego State staff made headlines hosting 5-star linebacker Reuben Foster and close friend Christian Cumberlander.
Nobody gave SDSU a chance with Foster, with great reason. Still, if you are SDSU, the publicity from the event was worth the ticket fare.
This weekend the Aztecs are hosting a few other visitors including jumbo athlete Darryl Richardson. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound prep has been offered as a tight end. He would be a quality pickup for the Aztecs if they can make a move late in the game.
Junior college tackle Simo Kulmaviita is also expected on campus later today. The Aztecs are in need of lineman to round out the class and will also host Taft (Calif.) prep Steven Tart. Both lineman are 6-foot-5 or taller and could come in and compete at either tackle position.
Additionally, Mt. San Jacinto C.C. outside linebacker Dejon Brown will be in San Diego taking in the sights and sounds. Like offensive lineman, linebacker is a key position of need for the Aztecs to close out this 2013 class.
Don't be surprised to see SDSU close on a few key recruits this weekend and early next week.
