The Bears got a big score with the addition of the nation's No. 85 overall player, Jalen Harvey.
Harvey said he won't be taking any other visits.
Harvey spoke to the coaches late Tuesday night and let them know he was locked up.
"I was just sitting in my room and just thinking," Harvey said. "I got a whole lot of family out here and I want to play for them. Cal is great, it's close and I just knew it was the place."
He was able to reach position coach Rob Likens and let him know the big news.
"He was hollering over the phone and he was very excited about it," he said. "I talked to coach (Sonny) Dykes after and he was pretty fired up too. I just love the atmosphere and I've got a good connection with everyone there. I can't wait to do big things at Cal."
The four-star athlete has been recruited at both safety and receiver. He plans to start at receiver for Cal.
Despite the early commitment, Harvey was solid in his pledge and won't be taking any other visits.
"I'm all locked up. I'm going to do some camps and stuff but I won't be visiting other schools. I'm going to try and recruit my teammates and some other guys but ultimately I will let them make their own decisions."
Harvey is the second commitment in this class for Cal.
