SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Ohio State added a talented linebacker for the second time in as many days as four-star Mike Mitchell (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian) picked the Buckeyes at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. This came after four-star Trey Johnson (Lawrenceville, Ga./Central Gwinnett) picked Ohio State at the Under Armour All-America Game on Friday night.
With the pledge, the Buckeyes jumped back to No. 3 in the 247Sports team rankings, jumping Notre Dame.
Alabama (No. 1) and USC (No. 2) continue to have the top two classes for 2013. The Trojans dipped briefly, but rebounded after adding 247Composite five-star safety Leon McQuay III (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) at the Under Armour Game Friday night.
Only 1.23 points separates the Trojans 774.24 from Ohio State 773.01 for the No. 2 class.
The news wasn't all good for the Buckeyes, though. Louisville head coach Charlie Strong kept his top target at home as four-star receiver James Quick picked the Cardinals over Ohio State.
The Cardinals moved to No. 54 in the 247Sports team rankings with his pledge.
Miami (Fla.) earned a big commitment from one of the top prospects in the Northeast as defensive end Alquadin Muhammad (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco Prep) committed to the Hurricanes.
Muhammad is commitment No. 13 for Miami, which vaulted to No. 30 in the 247Sports team rankings.
Texas A&M added to the nation's top receiver class with the addition of Top247 prospect Tony Stevens on Saturday when the former Florida State commit picked the Aggies.
Stevens is commitment No. 35 for Texas A&M and the Aggies remained No. 7 in the 247Sports team rankings.
Washington added to an already stellar defensive line class on Saturday when four-star Joe Mathis (Upland, Calif.) committed to the Huskies.
Mathis previously was committed to Washington from Oct. 25, 2011 until Jan. 12, 2010 and re-upped with the Huskies on Saturday.
Washington moves to No. 11 in the 247Sports team rankings for the 2013 class.
Pittsburgh landed a commitment from four-star receiver Tyler Boyd during the first quarter of Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome.
The Panthers now have 22 commitments in the 2013 class and moved up from No. 33 to No. 27 in the 247Sports team rankings.
Four-star defensive lineman Joe Mathis, four-star receiver Tony Stevens, four-star defensive end Alquadin Muhammad, four-star receiver James Quick and four-star linebacker Mike Mitchell all are expected to commit later.
Predictions- Boyd to Pittsburgh, Mathis to Washington, Stevens to Texas A&M, Muhammad to Miami, Quick too close to call and Mitchell to Ohio State.
The 247Sports team recruiting rankings, which are based on the rankings and ratings of the 247Composite (weighing recruiting rankings from various media outlets equally) will be updated throughout the day as the commitments come in.
