Even though many experts considered him a lock to Temple, three-star power forward Dominique Uhl announced Friday morning that he had verbally committed to Iowa.
Uhl chose the Hawkeyes over Temple and Boston College. The Crystal Ball was 100 percent in favor of Temple, proving that one can never be too sure about where a recruit is going.
The 6-foot-8, 180-pound forward is rated as the ninth best player in the state of New Jersey, and received a rating of 84 overall by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Uhl took official visits to Boston College, Iowa and Temple in the month of September.
He is the second commitment in the class of 2014 for the Hawkeyes, bumping them up to the ninth best class in the Big Ten and 69th in the nation by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
The Point Pleasant Beach star joins three-star shooting guard Brady Ellingson in Iowa’s class of 2014.
Uhl is a native of Germany and came to the United States last summer. He can play on the wing, and is very smooth for his size. His jump shot and ability to handle the basketball are still a work in progress.
