No. 1 corner breaks down players

BEAVERTON, Ore.- When the nation's number one corner Vernon Hargreaves arrived at The Opening, he was hoping to shut down some of the countries best wide receivers. Hargreaves' plans took a detour when he re-injured an ankle that he had been nursing back to health from the spring.

Shane Morris

Michigan quarterback commit Shane Morris was the pick of cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III as the top signal caller at The Opening.

Hargreaves was still active with the team -- as the designated shotgun snapper. Since he had some extra downtime, Hargreaves spoke with 247Sports about some of the players that stood out to him. He obviously didn't get to see everyone, but here are some of the guys that he noticed:

Quarterback

** Shane Morris - "He's a baller. He was definitely the best quarterback here."

** Max Browne - "He spreads the ball to everyone, he doesn't lock in, everyone touches the rock."

Running back

** Alvin Kamara and Ryan Green - "They've both done great this weekend. They got speed and they get to the edge. You throw them a 5 yard pass and they turn it into 15 every time."

Wide receiver

** Ahmad Fullwood - "I liked him a lot all weekend. He made some big catches."

** Ryan Switzer - "He's fast, quick and ran great routes. That guy caught everything thrown his way."

** Alvin Bailey - "Bailey has been doing good. He makes the big catch when we need it."

Tight end

OJ Howard - "He's got great athleticism for someone his size. He's a good target in the redzone."

Travis Johnson - "Travis knows how to use his body and shield the defender. He's a good guy to have if you are a quarterback."

Linebacker

** Jaylon Smith - "I didn't think he was that good coming in, but he's a really good player. He's long and he can run."

** Alex Anzalone- "He's a playmaker. Had a pick six the other day and is a leader on defense."

Cornerback

** Kendall Fuller - "He plays a lot like I do. He's aggressive, not a lot of balls go his way. I guess a lot of people know not to test him."

** Chris Hawkins - "He's pretty good. He hurt his thumb and it didn't really effect him, he still made plays all weekend."

Safety

** Nick Washington "He's kind of like Leon McQuay III, just a ball hawk. Both those guys make a lot of plays at their position. If a QB makes a mistake, it's over."

** Marcell Harris - "He had a big first day. One of the games he almost won by himself with two picks."
