Adams makes the call

Adams should contribute immediately at New Mexico.

One official visit is all it took for 2014 prospect Xavier Adams to find his future college.

Adams, a 6-5, 195-pound shooting guard from Alvarado (Texas) High School, has New Mexico on the board in the 2014 class as the Lobos’ first commitment.

“New Mexico has a top 25 program with a sellout crowd every game,” said Adams’ travel team coach Vonzell Thomas of The Dream. “Xavier has the opportunity to play right away with players at his position graduating. And his relationship with the coaches pushed it over the edge.”

Averaging 27 points and 14 rebounds per game, Adams also had offers from the likes of Colorado State, Creighton, Nebraska, North Texas, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and Tulsa.

Adams, a three-star prospect, is a physical wing player with a strong all around game.
